I qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 1989 and after working for ten years in England and three years in New Zealand I settled in Shropshire in 2002 working for Abbey Vet Centre before starting Macpherson O’Sullivan LLP with Tim in 2003. This has progressed on to Shropshire Farm Vets Ltd of which I am now Managing Director. I am married to Jane and have two children, George and Isla. When I get some time, on a clear night I can be found in a roofless shed with a couple of telescopes taking pictures of galaxies/nebulae. Otherwise I am known to chase deer in Scotland and take the odd photograph.

I qualified as a vet from Dublin in 1994 and have been a full time farm vet since 1997. Together with Alistair we established Macpherson O’Sullivan Farm Vets in 2003 to better serve Shropshire farmers, with a specialist farm veterinary service. This has since progressed into Shropshire Farm Vets. As a practice we have always tried to educate and inform our clients as much as possible and I am one of several Lantra accredited trainers in the practice. I organise and run DIY AI training, calf health training and dairy cow nutrition training days on a regular basis.

Graduated Ghent, Belgium 1996. I worked in mixed practices in Four Crosses, Carmarthen and Montgomery before seeing the light in 2004 and focusing on farm animals only. My interests are Bovine surgery and cattle lameness. I get a lot of satisfaction out of making lame cows better and training clients the correct 5 step foot trim. As a practice we regularly organise foot trimming courses and provide training days. Recently I became a Mobility Mentor with DairyCo. I’m also passionate about fertility and preventative medicine in sheep.

I graduated from Bristol in 2006 and spent a year in mixed practice in rural Berkshire. During this time, I decided to pursue a career in a farm animal veterinary practice, and joined the team at Mac&O in 2007 which has now progressed to Shropshire Farm Vets. Improving animal health and welfare, whilst enhancing overall farm profitability through good health and fertility management are aspects of my job which I enjoy most. I have recently gained a Diploma in Bovine Reproduction.

A farmers son, I am particularly interested in improving cow performance through better management and welfare and have attended the Nottingham fertility conference and Large herd conferences over the last few years. I also carry out all the farm assurance work for our pig clients and enjoy seeing the improvements that can be made when we work together as a team.

I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2006 & spent 4 years working in mixed practice in rural Carmarthenshire and Wiltshire. After spending a year and a half working and travelling abroad, including time spent in the dairy heartland of the Waikato in New Zealand’s North Island, I joined the practice as a locum at the end of March 2012. My main areas of interest are bovine fertility, surgery and the management of Johne’s Disease. I enjoy judo and walking in the Shropshire countryside with my Labrador and young family.

I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2012. Originally from Staffordshire, I took my first job down in Wiltshire and worked in farm animal practice there until returning to the Midlands to join Shropshire Farm Vets in January 2016. I have a keen interest in parasitology, particularly in sheep, and enjoy working with shepherds on a flock level to enhance their production and profitability. Outside of work I play the piano and tinker with cars.

I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2008. After 18 months working in a mixed practice in Devon I moved to Gloucestershire where I spent over six years working in a farm only practice. In 2015 I was highly commended as Dairy Vet of the year in the Farming Business Cream awards. I joined Shropshire Farm Vets in 2016 and enjoy all aspects of dairy herd health and management. I am currently working towards a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Cattle). Along with Nathan I head the Whittington branch of Shropshire Farm Vets.

I qualified from University of Glasgow in 2014 and spent the next three years in farm and equine practice in the wilds of Northumberland. Originally from Cheshire I joined Shropshire Farm Vets in November 2017 to pursue a career in farm only practice. I enjoy all aspects of farm animal practice particularly beef and sheep work. When I’m not working I can be found cycling and running around the hills of Shropshire with my Labrador, Bonnie.

I graduated from University of Santiago de Compostela in 2006. I spent the following 2 and a half years working for a farm animal practice in Salamanca, working with beef, sheep, pigs and typical Spanish bulls. I then worked as a TB tester in two different areas of Spain. After 15 months “relaxing” at home due to injury I needed a risky but exciting change in my life (the “now or never” challenge sometimes you feel you need at some point in life…) so I headed to British landm first as a meat inspector in slaughterhouses around the country and now here at Shropshire Farm Vets. In my free time i like going out with friends, sport, and travel.

I graduated from the University of Cordoba in Spain. After several internships at mixed practices within Spain, I decided to explore new adventures and headed to the UK. Firstly, I worked as a Veterinary meat hygiene inspector but I have always been interested in working with farm animals, so when the opportunity arrived I didn’t hesitate to take it and joined Shropshire Farm Vets in April 2015.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and playing tennis.

After graduating from the University of Giessen in 2012, I went on to face different challenges. The first one was moving to the UK to live with an English family and improve my English. During this time, I volunteered at a wildlife rescue centre and RSPCA clinic which have been great experiences. After a year, I felt it was time for the next step moving from Essex to Lincoln where I worked as a Veterinary meat hygiene inspector in slaughterhouses, which is what I did until I joined SFV in May 2015. Outside of work I enjoy spoiling my friends and colleagues with homemade cakes and my cat with lots of cuddles.
Mihail Stoica MRCVS – TB Testing Vet
I qualified as a vet from Bucharest in 2014 and after working for two years in the rural side of Romania, I moved to the UK. Since “the big move” I worked as a Veterinary Meat Hygiene Inspector until October 2017 when I joined Shropshire Farm Vets, bringing me closer to my passion which is working with farm animals. Outside of work I enjoy fishing, cooking traditional Romanian food for my friends and traveling.
Chloe Davies – Receptionist
I joined Shropshire Farm Vets in September 2015 after finishing at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College. I was born and bred in Shropshire growing up on a working sheep farm. I am a Keen member of Dorrington young Farmers, hoping to take on the role of secretary in the coming year. My main responsibilities within the practice include daily Reception and Dispensary tasks, weekly clinical updates, Veterinary Equipment Monitoring, producing total vet reports and assisting with Johnes/MAP reports.
Siobhan Harrington-Hayes – Receptionist
I moved to Shropshire and joined Shropshire Farm Vets in June 2017. I have a range of experience in reception, customer service and stock specialist roles. These skills have come in handy as my time in the practice is mainly split between Reception and Pharmacy. Amongst other things I am also becoming more involved in some of the practice health and safety and fleet coordination aspects.
Most of my spare time up until recently has been home DIY based but I am now looking forward to getting out and about on my bicycle and exploring Shropshire.
