Following graduation from Staffordshire University I spent a number of years working in education welfare before joining the team at Macpherson O’Sullivan in January 2009 which has since progressed into Shropshire Farm Vets. My main focus and passion is the operational side of the business, HR, managing, developing systems and looking for solutions to meet changing business needs. Outside of work I’m a full-time mum and taxi service to my two daughters, supporting them in their dramatic ambitions.

My main role is business admin which includes health and safety, fleet coordination, stock ordering, course organisation along with many other tasks. I joined Shropshire Farm Vets in January 2018. Over the past five years working in reception and administration based roles I have developed a wide range of knowledge that helps with my main responsibilities within the practice of diary management and communication with clients. Heather Mauchlen

Heather Mauchlen – TB/Pharmacy Receptionist and Stock Auditor

I have lived in Shrewsbury for the majority of my life, originally being born in South Africa. After finishing college I went down the apprenticeship route to gain qualifications whilst working, getting me to where I am today – Shropshire Farm Vets. In my previous job I gained experience in providing exceptional customer service, which I look forward to applying in my new role as receptionist. I fill my spare time at the gym, walking my dog and exploring Wales with my other half. (As well as enjoying dining out most weekends!) I also have a deep love for cars and travelling.

Charlotte Evans

Charlotte Evans BA (Hons) – Senior Pharmacy Receptionist

I’ve worked at Shropshire Farm Vets sporadically over the course of the past 4 years leaving in 2016 to take the opportunity to attend University. Living and studying in Leeds, I was able to pursue my love for the arts and I’m now the very proud owner of a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree! I have experience in a number of customer service based roles and on my return to the Vets I will now predominately be carrying out dispensary-related tasks. In my spare time I like to be outside riding or competing my horse, as well as drawing pet-portrait commissions to keep building on my portfolio.

Susan Burgoyne

Susan Burgoyne – Pharmacy Receptionist

I was born and bred in Shropshire and now live just over the border where along with my husband and family we farm sucklers and beef, while running a busy livery yard. Life is never dull with our three grown up children, twins Hannah; studying at Harper Adams and Alex; a carpenter. Our youngest Lara is working towards A-levels. My career has led me from legal work, through NHS recruitment and research, and, more latterly over the past three years working in an equine vet practice prior to joining the lovely, friendly Shropshire Farm Vets as a part time Pharmacy Receptionist. I love to cook, play tennis, and travel all over the country with my youngest daughter competing on her ponies in mounted games competitions, but most of all I love socialising with friends!

Shelby Wilkes

Shelby Wilkes – Clinical Receptionist

I joined Shropshire Farm vets in June 2021 as a clinical receptionist. In my previous role, exceptional customer service was one of the core values, which is something I look forward to applying to my role here at Shropshire Farm Vets! I live in Muxton, Telford with my partner Cole and our Siberian Husky Luna. My favourite way to spend my spare time is weekends away with friends and of course the dogs!

Erica Shaw

Erica Shaw – TB Receptionist

I joined Shropshire Farm Vets in July 2021 as a part-time TB receptionist. When I am not in the office I also work as an animal care assistant at an emergency out of hours vets. I have a bit of an odd work background, having worked doing administration in a range of places including a cattle insemination company and a large animal laboratory. In my spare time look after my Persian cat, Cornelious, and use my fine art degree to do illustrations and upcycle furniture.

Will Bowen

Will Bowen – Pharmacy Courier

I joined Shropshire Farm vets in July 2021 as pharmacy courier, having spent my early career in manufacturing and warehouse management, managing teams of up to 75 direct reports. Four years ago I decided to take a different career path and started employment with CIS Holstein UK as a milk recorder and genomic sampler; during this time I met and worked alongside some hardworking farmers who are often under-appreciated for their dedication and hard work. Outside of work I have been married for 30 years to a hard-working NHS health care assistant, we have five boys and one daughter, who is currently at studying at Nottingham University to be a paediatric nurse. We have six adventurous grandchildren and counting and also have small menagerie consisting of 150 chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese, together with a few pigs, sheep and hopefully soon some golden Guernsey goats – but don’t tell the wife!
